Tezcatlipoca is sometimes described as the father of Nahualismo his most famous form being the Jagaur Tepeyollotl the heart of the mountain  he himself has an infinite amount of forms it was thought the high ranking priests or believers were able to turn into animals it was a manifestation of their soul like a spirit animal. There is a few of his Nahual forms that are known such as Tepeyollotl(Heart of the Mountain) (Jaguar), Chalchiuhtotolin (Jade Turkey)(Fowl/Turkey), and Huehuecoyotl(Very Old Coyote)

The Jaguar God Tepeyollotl The Heart of The Mountain

Tepeyollotl, the Jaguar God, is one of the most powerful and mysterious manifestations of Tezcatlipoca in Nahua religion. Known as the Heart of the Mountain, Tepeyollotl plays a vital role in Mesoamerican cosmology.

Guardian of the Sacred Mountain

Tepeyollotl is the guardian of the sacred mountain, a place where all things unborn await their birth. This mountain symbolizes potential and the mysteries of creation that have yet to be revealed.

Roar of Thunder and Control of the Weather

Tepeyollotl's roar is like thunder, invoking the rain that nourishes the earth. His influence over the weather is immense, and his power is felt in the storms and rainfall that he brings.

Cause of Earthquakes and Tsunamis

The movements of Tepeyollotl are so powerful that they can cause earthquakes and tsunamis, showing his ability to affect both the land and the sea. This capacity to provoke natural disasters highlights his connection to the wild and destructive aspects of nature.

Manifestation of Tezcatlipoca

Tepeyollotl is not only a god in his own right but also a manifestation of Tezcatlipoca, one of the most complex and multifaceted gods in the Nahua pantheon. This connection reinforces the idea that Tezcatlipoca has multiple forms and aspects, each with its own powers and responsibilities.

Symbol of Power and Mysticism

As a jaguar god, Tepeyollotl symbolizes power, stealth, and the night. The jaguar is a sacred animal in many Mesoamerican cultures, representing both the fear and admiration that people felt for the uncontrollable forces of nature.

Relation with Other Nahuales of Tezcatlipoca

Tepeyollotl is just one of the many nahual forms that Tezcatlipoca can assume. Other known nahuales include Chalchiuhtotolin (Jeweled Fowl) and Huehuecoyotl (Very Old Coyote). Each of these forms reflects a different aspect of Tezcatlipoca's power and influence over the natural and spiritual world.

Conclusion

In summary, Tepeyollotl, the Jaguar God, is a central figure in Nahua Religion, representing both creation and destruction, and demonstrating the extent of Tezcatlipoca's power and influence in the Mesoamerican universe.

Chalchiuhtotolin The Jeweled Foul

Chalchiuhtotolin is a powerful symbol of sorcery he is said to be able to cleanse and purify humans of their want to end themselves. Chalchiuhtotolin is one of Tezcatlipoca's forms.

Huehuecoyotl (Coyote muy viejo)

The Picture above is  of el coyote emplumado the feathered coyote made famous by "La India Maria" in the movie "El Coyote Emplumado"

Huehuecoyotl the coyote god commonly referred to as the old coyote could very likely be a manifestation or nahual of Tezcatlipoca according to the Museo Nacional De antropología in Mexico.

Huehuecoyotl the very old coyote, he was a trickster and shapeshifter much like Tezcatlipoca in all sources he is from the Tezcatlipoca family and in most he is his direct descendant or Nahual of Tezcatlipoca. In some myths he was born from Omecihuatl the female half of Ometeotl after she had given birth to the Tezcatlipoca family she gave birth to a Tecpatl a obsidian blade. The Gods were concerned and threw it away it fell to chicomoztoc aa part of earth which translates to seven caves, upon falling into these seven caves the Tecpatl(Obsidian Blade) released 1600 gods and goddesses the Nauhtzonteteo they spread all over the earth, the sea, the underworld and the heavens.

Huehuecoyotl: El Coyote Muy Viejo
