Terms & Conditions

The rules for the Site and our free classes, in plain language.

Effective date: July 13, 2026

These Terms and Conditions (the "Terms") govern the use of tezcatlipoca.com (the "Site") and participation in the free educational programs offered by the nonprofit organization Tezcatlipoca ("we," "us," "our"), based in California, United States.

By using the Site or registering a child in our classes, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Who may register

  • Registration must be completed by a person 18 years of age or older who is the parent or legal guardian of the enrolled child.
  • You agree to provide true, accurate, and current information, and to keep it up to date.
  • We never ask a child to register on their own.

2. The program

  • Classes are 100% free and online, with live sessions and materials to work through at your own pace, for children ages 6 to 13 (first year: 6–7).
  • Pre-registration does not guarantee a spot: space is limited and access is confirmed by email once approved.
  • We may adjust the curriculum, schedule, or availability of the program to improve the educational experience.

3. Access codes

  • The classroom access code is personal and non-transferable; it is for the enrolled child and their family.
  • Do not share your code publicly. We may deactivate codes that are misused.

4. Conduct in live classes

  • We ask for respect toward teachers and children at all times. We may remove access from anyone who repeatedly disrupts or is disrespectful.
  • A responsible adult must supervise the child's participation from home.
  • Recording, photographing, or rebroadcasting live sessions is prohibited. We do not record live sessions without the prior written consent of every parent or guardian whose child would appear in the recording (see our Privacy Policy).

5. Privacy and children

How personal information is handled — including that of children under 13 under COPPA — is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

6. Materials and intellectual property

  • Program materials (videos, stories, activities, printables) are for your family's personal educational use.
  • Reselling, republishing, or commercially distributing the materials without our written permission is not allowed.
  • Images of historical codices belong to cultural heritage; the rest of the Site's content is owned by Tezcatlipoca or used with permission.

7. Free program; changes or suspension

The program is offered at no cost. We reserve the right to modify, pause, or discontinue the Site or the program (in whole or in part) at any time, with or without notice.

8. No warranties

The Site and the program are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including uninterrupted availability, freedom from errors, or fitness for a particular purpose.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tezcatlipoca and its volunteers, teachers, and collaborators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the Site or the program. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the current version on this page along with its effective date. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes your acceptance.
